Hello! My name is Thurgood Marshall.  I was born in Maryland on July 2, 1908. When I was a little boy my mother told me that school was important.

 

I married Cecilia Suyat in 1955. I had 2 kids and was married two times. My first wife was Vivian Burey she died in 1955.

 

Later on in life I met President Johnson in 1967 and told me that I should be a judge.  I became the first African American judge on the Supreme Court. I ended a case that ended segregation from schools.  That means that now black people and white people can go to the same schools.

 

I died in 1993 when I was 84.
